9/11, Social Issues

20 years later

What can I say that hasn’t already been said? There really aren’t any good words that can express how I feel every year when September 11th rolls around. I wanted to write something anyway. I was 24 years old, and working as a travel surgical technologist on September 11th, 2001. I would take 3 month assignments all around the country where they needed extra help. During the weeks before 9/11, I was in working in Newark, New Jersey.

I met a young man named Mike during my time there. He was a very nice guy who worked in finance. We dated casually, both knowing I would be leaving soon. He was happy to show me around, and we had a good time seeing all there was to see. Shortly before I left (probably September 6th or so), we took the train to New York City. He wanted to show me where he worked at the World Trade Center, and show me around the city.

We stood in the evening air, and gazed up at the shining towers. It was that magical hour where it was dusky, but not yet dark, and the lights shimmered through the expanses of windows. The buildings went up, up, up seemingly forever. We couldn’t go in, but I wanted to. I will forever regret not taking photos that night. Back then, cameras weren’t as plentiful as they are now. He told me about this exquisite restaurant called Windows on the World way up at the top, and I wondered what it was like to eat there. We laughed and joked around, and said I should come back someday and he would take me there. The way young people do. We both knew this wouldn’t happen, but neither of us could have realized what evil plans were going to be carried out in a few short days.

As my assignment was drawing to an end, I had to decide if I wanted to drive cross country to California, or I could choose to store my truck and belongings and fly from Newark to California. If I flew, my departure date would be the morning of September 11th. I chose to drive instead, so I left earlier that way I could take my time and enjoy my drive. Many days later, I would realize how my choices might have changed my fate.

When I woke up on September 11th, I was in my hotel in Salt Lake City, Utah, on my way to my next assignment in California. I reached for the remote to turn on the TV so I could lounge around a bit longer before breakfast. I planned to spend one more night there, so I was going to enjoy a lazy morning. When I turned to the morning news, I saw the first World Trade Center tower billowing smoke from a gaping gash caused by an apparent plane crash. I was shocked. How on earth could this happen? As I watched them try to puzzle it out, people started shouting and screaming louder, and I watched in horror as the second plane smashed into the other tower. On live TV. This surreal feeling of realization that this was not an accident, it was on purpose, washed over me. It was on purpose. Someone did this on purpose. I wondered what happened to Mike. Did he have to work that day? Was he at work yet? Was he alive? I would never find out.

I spent that whole day glued to my television. Another crash, and then another. Were they related? What was happening? It felt like the world was reeling. When the towers fell, I remember staring at all the papers flitting about in the sky. Like some macabre snow globe.

The next morning as I checked out of my room, everyone was sort of dazed. I grabbed one of their complimentary newspapers and took it with me. Suddenly, nobody cared what your political affiliation, religion, sexual preference, or skin color was. We were all simply, Americans. I will always remember the flags that were everywhere as I drove. American flags were on cars, schools, homes, clothing, bags, hats, glasses, pets, simply everywhere. As I finished my drive onward to California, buildings and homes were drenched in red, white and blue. People were kinder, gentler. There was also a sense of unity that I had never felt before, and have not felt since.

Time rolled on, and I completed my last few travel assignments before I settled back down into a more permanent spot. Even though I didn’t take much in the way of belongings with me as I traveled, I always kept that newspaper. It felt important. I tucked in away into a hope chest, and that is where it has stayed for 20 years. I decided to take it out and look at it tonight. I looked at the old printed ink, some smudged. I looked for a long time at the newspapery photos with the discolored and yellowing edges. As I touched the old paper, and listened to the crinkly the pages turn, I wondered where all of the people are today who were pictured there. Some people, it was obvious didn’t make it. The images of people jumping or falling to their deaths will always be with me. But there were photos of others, running scared through the city. Where are they now, I wonder? What has happened to the unity that existed back then? I can’t help but reflect back on my own life, how far I have come, how much I have changed, where all I have been. That leads me to think about the self-destruction of our precious country. 20 years isn’t so long to go from the most unified we have ever been, to the most divided. How can this happen? Through our sadness, anger, and stories of hope, we said we would Never Forget. Never Forget.

We have had it too easy for too long. We forget that we live in the most free country on the planet. One that is ripe with opportunity for the taking. A country where everyone has the ability to make something of themselves if they want to work for it. We take it all for granted. We vowed never to forget. Unfortunately, we did forget.

Lowering standards and changing the rules

The war of language continues. I wrote a somewhat ranty blog discussing the many problems I see with coercing one to take an experimental drug. In this blog, I quoted the definition of the word vaccine, as written by the CDC. I wrote this on August 14th, and pulled the definition with a link to it the same day. This is the definition nurses and doctors were taught during their training.

You can read it here if you’re curious: “Is this about antibodies or compliance?” https://wp.me/p5wMVu-4O

Doug also made a podcast about this blog if you would rather listen: https://open.spotify.com/episode/7cVxtATzl3OHLbkx4J41av?si=urAeAtfAR5eex95IKx5J7Q&utm_source=copy-link&dl_branch=1

On August 14th, 2021, the CDC defined a vaccine as, “Vaccine: A product that stimulates a person’s immune system to produce immunity to a specific disease, protecting the person from that disease. Vaccines are usually administered through needle injections, but can also be administered by mouth or sprayed into the nose.”

Did you catch that? A vaccine is used to PRODUCE IMMUNITY. At least, that is how it used to be defined.

If you click the CDC link in my blog, or look it up for yourself, you will see they have quietly changed their definition of vaccine. It now says, “Vaccine: A preparation that is used to stimulate the body’s immune response against diseases. Vaccines are usually administered through needle injections, but some can be administered by mouth or sprayed into the nose.”

No longer are vaccines supposed to help us achieve immunity. They now only need to stimulate an immune response. There is a difference here that matters in a big way. Vaccines have been redefined, quietly, and the new definition has lower standards to ensure this new technology can be called a vaccine. The people were becoming too smart, and waking up to the fact they were being lied to. They resorted to doing what they so commonly do, they changed the rules to fit their narrative.

Is this about antibodies or compliance?

My skepticism began after the “2 weeks to flatten the curve” turned into preventing anyone from ever getting sick or dying again. Here is a tiny sampling on one narrow topic of why I, an educated person with a bachelor’s degree in nursing, and over 20 years in healthcare, don’t buy into the rhetoric.

Me: We no longer recognize passive immunity, which is when a person develops immunity by becoming infected, then recovering from something.

https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/vac-gen/immunity-types.htm

Them: Oh, no, no. Immunity received the old fashioned way doesn’t last as long as the vaccine.

Me: Wait, why are we still calling it a vaccine anyway? According to the CDC, (please note the use of the word immunity)

“Vaccine: A product that stimulates a person’s immune system to produce immunity to a specific disease, protecting the person from that disease. Vaccines are usually administered through needle injections, but can also be administered by mouth or sprayed into the nose.”

Them: The delta variant is killing people!

Me: Yes, no doubt, but so have other variants. For perspective look here and play with the data.

Everyone: Hospitalizations are going up!

Me: With people delaying having medical concerns addressed, and avoiding routine medical care last year, combined with Covid, yes, hospitals are super full. Did you know this happens every flu season, and news outlets and the public never cared before? I actually wrote an an entire blog on this point. Except in 2020 there was NO flu season. 😏

Everyone: But there are no beds!

Me: Some places are having to transfer patients, reduce elective surgeries, and frantically search for staff to hire. Some places have beds, but no staff to open the bed.

Them: I see. Let’s fire healthcare workers for not taking the shot.

Public Schools are BROKEN.

There are so many heated discussions lately about public schools. I have hesitated on sharing my thoughts on the matter because I am the type of person who wants to avoid hurting anyone’s feelings. I know many people who work for schools. That attitude does not fix things for my children though, and I can’t sit back and watch what is unfolding go without speaking up. I’m sure there are wonderful teachers in the public school systems, but their voices are alarmingly silent. What are our children facing in schools right now? And what can we do about it?

Teachers as babysitters?

Frequently, the comment has been made by teachers, “I am sick of parents acting like we are babysitters.” This always irritates me. Society has changed in such a way that both parents often have to work to support a family.  Not to mention single parents who are trying to survive.  Society has constructed average business days around our cultural norms.  Schools are a part of our society. Do they think we should be anxiously sitting at home with phone in hand? We have to work to pay the property taxes on the homes we own, so that we can pay them to teach our children. I pay them. You pay them.  As taxpayers, we pay their salaries.  Our property taxes pay for their salaries.  They are not giving a free community service.  Teachers chose this career path, and willingly accept tax payer money to do their job. THEY WORK FOR US.

In this article, there is a video with a school board who thinks they are in a private setting, letting everyone see their real thoughts. One person says, “They want their babysitters back.” Their behavior is incredibly unprofessional. One parent responds:

You told me I have to put my kid in school eight hours a day! That is literally a law; it is a law that my kid has to be in school. And now you’re telling me that the expectation should also be that I am free for all of that time, even though I’m legally required to not have my kid here. So it’s odd that we’ve set up this whole system in which people are required to go to school and then we’re going to be, like, “Well, school’s not your child care.” You told me it has to be!”

School Board Mocks Parents Who Support Reopening: ‘They Want Their Babysitters Back’ – Reason.com

The other part to this article is the pure disdain for a parent who thinks differently than they do. They demean, mock and laugh about parents who are standing up for their right to a public education for their child. They are elected by the public, and their true colors are shameful.

Peer Pressure on children

Let’s take a look for a moment at the actual definition of peer pressure.

Definition of peer pressurea feeling that one must do the same things as other people of one’s age and social group in order to be liked or respected by them”

Peer Pressure | Definition of Peer Pressure by Merriam-Webster

Can you see any peer pressure being placed on you by the school system? Can you see it being placed on your children? What about in society? It is everywhere. It used to be something that children were taught to resist. And now, the very people who have authority over your children in public schools are the worst perpetrators of peer pressure.

They are pressured into taking experimental drugs

It is important to note that the experimental covid shot is a drug It is also important that people understand the difference between an FDA approved drug, and a drug that has been authorized for emergency use. There is a big difference.

They are pressured into early sexualization

They are pressured into keeping secrets

The remote learning circus that arose after Covid was discovered allowed parents an unobstructed view into the classrooms of their children. It was eye opening. Now that parents are aware of the damage being done to their kids, they are waking up and beginning to take action. Teachers do not like the fact that parents are more equipped now to fight for what their children are being taught. One school district had asked parents to sign a form saying they would basically stay out of it.

Kay added his chief concern was “conservative” parents overhearing his discussions with their children.

School District Under Fire for Asking Parents To Vow Not To Sit In on Children’s Online Learning (westernjournal.com)

Sex education is being pushed on very young children. There are instances of secrecy in this type of education. This article discusses how children are taught how to get abortions, and keep it a secret from their parents. It has long been known that children should be taught that secrecy is bad. This helps protect children from grooming by a sexual predator.

Remind your child/tween/teen that if anyone asks them to keep a secret from their parents this is a red flag, bad secret. Exactly the type of secret you need to tell a trusted adult.

What can be done to restore schools to an educational system, and not an indoctrination center?

Run for positions and vote

We are watching the consequences of voting unfold every day. Not voting carries the same weight as voting. The non-voter simply has no say in the outcome. If you know someone who would be a good fit for school board, and they represent your values, encourage them to run! Support them in any way you can, including financially. It costs an unbelievable amount of money to run for elected positions.

Pay Attention

For too long, we have been going about our lives, so busy with the mundane everyday tasks that we had no idea what was festering within our school systems. We must pay attention to the small things. The things we don’t think matter. We should talk with our children, in an open and interested manner. Ask questions, be present, be approachable, be available.

Speak out

Finding the courage to stand up and speak out when you see something wrong can be daunting. It is important, especially when it comes to children who do not yet have these skills. They will try to shame you, silence you, and make it inconvenient. Do it anyway. Set an example, and be strong for your little ones.

Transparency and cameras

Our police officers are now wearing body cameras to document their work. Police officers are held accountable for how they treat our community members and loved ones during law enforcement encounters. We demand transparency from our officers.

We have cameras now in most daycare centers who care for our beloved babies.  Many places allow parental access to cameras.  They send home slips about what they did that day.  There is open communication. We demand transparency for our babies.

Why, then, do we not demand the same transparency with our precious children in the school system? Teachers have private access to our kids during the most vulnerable stages of their developmental cycles. As parents, it is our job to protect them. It is OUR job to teach them. If we decide to use public education to carry out our task, we should be very well versed on what we are allowing into the heads of our children.

My family is leaning toward a homeschool education for our children who are currently 4 and almost 2. There is a Homeschool Resource Center in our area that is a fantastic place to have children attend supplemental classes and activities. We took our 4 year old for some classes this term to try it out. One thing I quickly noticed is that there are signs telling people that there are cameras in every room, and it is recorded. They also ask that a parent to stays on site while the child is in a class. They allow parents to be as involved as they wish. The transparency is comforting and fosters a good relationship.

I believe all public schools should have cameras in the classrooms. Parents should be allowed to access them, and also view curriculum in its entirety when requested. We have put too much trust, and given too much responsibility to government run educational facilities than ever should have been given.

Homeschool

Pull your children out of public education until this is resolved. Do not expect little ones to be the “salt and light” that the world of public education needs right now. For all of the above reasons and more, they can’t fight the pressure alone. If you think you are scared speaking out at a school board meeting, try to picture your little one standing up to a teacher and a bunch of peers. This is the front line of the battle, and they are not equipped. But even if you homeschool, don’t stop fighting for the public schools. There are children that don’t have parents willing or able to fight for them for many reasons.

If you are considering homeschooling, but it feels overwhelming, there are many ways and many resources on how to create a homeschool environment that works for your family. Teach them things. Teach them educational things. Teach them beautiful things. Teach them funny things. Teach them life lessons. Teach them the gospel. It is our job. This does not mean we have to be the only ones ever teaching our children, but we are ultimately responsible to vet the people and material they are being exposed to. We should monitor their growth, pay attention, and take action to change things when it is needed.

You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.

Deuteronomy 6:7

Put God back into our lives

Every time we remove the Lord from a place, something else will fill the void. And it will not be Godly. It will not be good. People are searching for an ideal world that can only be found when we get to heaven. This ideal world cannot exist on earth because it is a broken place filled with us as sinners… for now. That does not mean we shouldn’t try to make it a better place, but it does mean we will not succeed at making it a perfect place. To finally reach the ideal place, we must keep our eyes on God.

Do not be conformed to this world,3 but be transformed by dthe renewal of your mind, that by testing you may ediscern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Romans 12:2

If we don’t stand up for our children, and put them on the correct the pathway to their future, someone else will guide them to a path of their choosing. Our children are our responsibility, our gift, and we should be strong for them.

Are we already at war?

I see people casually saying that they are ready for civil war.  That they even want it.  They want someone to just say the word, and it will be, “Go time!”  I have not made the sacrifice to serve in a war.  I am not a veteran, but I have spoken to them.  I am grateful to them.  I hear them when they say that war is not something we as humans, or as Christians should desire.  Certainly, there are times when war is unavoidable and must be fought.  War should be a last resort.

There have been conflicts in history that did not take place on an official battlefield.  The Cold war, for example.  This time we are in feels monumental.  This is no ordinary era of conflict we are going through.  As I was discussing this with my husband, and how we dread the thought of civil war happening in our country, it dawned on me, we are already at war.  I believe we are in the middle of a Cold Civil War.  The battle is being fought on many fronts.  From something as seemingly insignificant as definitions of words, all the way to the presidency of the United States.

“… it dawned on me, we are already at war.  I believe we are in the middle of a Cold Civil War.”

The Cold Civil War.  This battle didn’t begin with one specific shot fired.  It crept up slowly from the periphery of our awareness.  It began as a slow burn, and the ramping up accelerated in 2020.  “They” counted on changing things, small things, that are too insignificant seeming to really complain about.  All these insignificant things have built up into a time bomb, and if it has not already exploded, it feels like the time is near.

Someone recently said that they don’t see how the two sides of the country can be united any longer.  With sadness, I now think they are right.  As time goes on, the divide feels greater than it did the day before.  It feels like divides as great as these are generally only wiped away after suffering some great tragedy.  Was the lockdown of 2020 the tragedy we will see as we look back in time?  Or are we barreling toward a more significant event?  Only time will tell.

Schools are a battlefield.  The minds of our children go to the victor.  From BLM at school, to comprehensive sexual education to social justice on all topics, the war continues on.

We as a society expect to drop our children off on the front lines at school, and expect them to be capable of resisting the bad and absorbing the good.  Without guidance from parents because we are prevented from knowing what is really going on.  They call a class health class, and what they really teach is how children should accept and affirm transgenderism, just to give one example. They start with the youngest learners who do not have the emotional capacity to process such ideas.  They are taught they can have medical procedures and vaccines and medication without parental consent.  Don’t worry, they school will take care of everything.

Science is a battlefield.  From conflicting opinions on the “science” of covid, to new and experimental shots to prevent it, to lockdowns that destroy businesses and people.  I have already written about masks, so I won’t go there again.  Schools now offer healthcare to our children without parents knowing.

Yet science says we are born male or female.  Science knows viruses are designed to survive by infecting.  Science has studied mRNA vaccines for decades, and there has not yet been one approved.  Science used to encourage questioning things, and open debate.  Now, if you follow science that disagrees with the narrative, you are labeled a “science denier,” or a”cov-idiot,” or any other number of lively things.

Even social media is a battlefield.  Something that began as entertainment and a way to casually pass the time, has turned into a propaganda machine where a few people are trying to alter the way we think.  Censorship is rampant, and this also applies to mainstream media.

Our businesses are a battlefield.  Our communities, our constitution, our vocabulary and definitions, and even our churches are all battlefields.  I believe we will look back on this period of time, and see we were in a slowly building Cold Civil War.  Until we stand together and boldly speak out against corrupt agendas, we will not win this war.  Until we stand together, and put God back into all of the places we have allowed Him to be erased, this war will not end.

One nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Waiting for answers about Covid and the new vaccines. Keep it voluntary.

It has been a year since I first heard stories about the new virus coming to get us all.  The panic spread quickly, people gripped by fear.  Fear, I now know, is a powerful tool.  It is easy to scare people, but very difficult to unscare them.

No good news

The few voices that came forward with messages of reason and hope were quickly squashed.  For example, there appeared to be a glimmer of good news because hydroxychloroquine was thought to be a good medication to help treat Covid if it is given early enough.  That idea was quickly blocked without taking the time to look into it any further. There is still debate among providers about this. Any ray of hope from our then-president was called a lie.  Any doctors who brought forth anything that went against the fear pushing objective were quickly discredited.

Another piece of good news should be how Covid killed the seasonal flu, right? In the image below, taken directly from the CDC website, you can see all of the colored lines that represent past flu seasons compared to this flu season, with the red triangles. Interesting we are not hearing more about this, and how or if it relates to the rise in Covid.

To those of you attributing this data to the fact people are doing an amazing job of wearing their masks and social distancing, spare me. I have already seen this argument. These are the same people who are screaming to the world that every time a person tests positive for Covid, it’s because “Nobody knows how to mask, socially distance or follow rules!” You can’t have it both ways.

Covid deaths are not always from Covid

There are states which count a death as a Covid death if they had a positive test, no matter how they died. I understand the impact comorbidities have on illnesses. However, there are cases in which the person died of a clear, alternative cause, and the person was counted as a Covid death.

“If you were in hospice and had already been given a few weeks to live, and then you also were found to have COVID, that would be counted as a COVID death. It means technically even if you died of a clear alternate cause, but you had COVID at the same time, it’s still listed as a COVID death. So, everyone who’s listed as a COVID death doesn’t mean that that was the cause of the death, but they had COVID at the time of the death.” Dr. Ezike outlined.

https://hoiabc.com/2020/04/20/idph-director-explains-how-covid-deaths-are-classified/

I point this out because I want people to understand that we need time and answers. Time to know the actual survival rates. Which appear to be very high. (More good news not being touted.) And time to know how safe and effective a new vaccine is. Knowing these pieces of information will help people to make an educated decision on taking the shot or declining.

They are safe and effective… Trust us…

Yesterday, I read an article discussing how the new Covid vaccines are as safe as they thought they would be. This article discussed how, “everyone who experienced an allergic response has been treated successfully.” And, “no other serious problems have turned up among the first 22 million people vaccinated, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.”

I work away from direct patient care now, and have for 2 years. I have a small team, and they are offering the vaccine to us. A few of my colleagues have excitedly and dutifully opted to take it. This week, 2 members of my team received the second dose. At our meeting a few days ago, one person said she was behind this week because a few days after she received the second dose, her arm, axilla and shoulder were very swollen and red. She couldn’t even apply deodorant for 3 days. She spiked a 103 degree fever that lasted over 24 hours, and her headache made her feel like she was going to throw up if she sneezed, coughed or bent over. Once she was finished talking, the other person quietly said she had the same types of things happen. They both hesitantly agreed, “but, it’s worth it.”

…Is it though? Who determines that? I do. No one else determines risk versus reward for me or my family except us. It is the same with any other medical treatment. I recently had my gallbladder removed. Among the risks of surgery are death. When they ask for my informed consent, they explained the statistics of each possible complication, and I had to decide for myself if I was willing to take that risk. That is as it should be for any medical procedure or treatment. And, until recently, was the standard to which we in the medical field were all trained.

If you continue through the article, you will see,

“Vaccinated people have suffered major health crises and even death within a few days of receiving a shot, but the rate of those events is no higher than would be expected in the general population and cannot be connected to the vaccine, the review found.”

USA Today

Whenever anyone else has suggested to look at Covid related deaths in such a manner, they are called anti-science, and any number of other derogatory terms. If we measured vaccine related deaths in the same ‘scientific’ way we measured Covid related deaths, why wouldn’t we, for example, call all deaths in the 30 days after a Covid shot – a Covid shot death?

Double standards. The narrative. Fear peddling. That’s why.

“Shimabukuro did not address the several people reported to have died after receiving a vaccine, including a Florida doctor and a California X-ray technologist.”

USA Today

These are only the ones made public at this moment. Nothing to see here. Everything is just fine.

Vaccines

I realize I probably sound like an anti-vaxxer. That’s far from truth. I and my family are all vaccinated for the typical childhood things. I also take the flu shot every year after having the flu so badly one year, I thought I would literally die. I am also very much in favor of medical choice and informed consent. Over the years, I have educated many people on vaccines, but always respected their decision to go whichever way they felt was right. I have never in my career witnessed so much guilt, shaming and peer pressure to have a medical treatment as I have seen with this experimental shot.

We are reassured things are safe and effective. But, we are barely coming upon a year of Covid vaccines, and a small trial phase. Clearly my definitions of ‘safe’ and ‘effective’ differ from other’s definitions. As do my definitions of ‘hate,’ ‘love,’ ‘truth,’ and many other vocabulary words. But that’s for another time.

mRNA vaccines are not a new idea

Did you know that the technology for the new mRNA vaccines has been around for decades? I didn’t either. “mRNA vaccines have been studied before for flu, Zika, rabies, and cytomegalovirus (CMV).” Yet, despite the length of their existence, and the purported ease of creating new vaccines, one still has not been approved by the FDA. Why is that?

The answer is we don’t know. There are so many things we don’t know. I pray this vaccine is the next good thing in medical technology. I really do. But, until we answer more questions, the answer will remain a “No thanks” for myself and my family. This experimental shot should remain a choice, and not a mandatory medical procedure.

Abuse? Gaslighting? Both! Male and female should be celebrated

It came as a surprise to me that Pelosi decided to remove gender related terms from the house.  It is now forbidden to use terms as mother, father, uncle, daughter in law, or anything else that hints at what gender someone might be.

This is complete insanity, and feels evil. God created us, his precious children, as male and as female.  There are numerous references in the Bible to this point.  Here is just one:

“So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.”

Genesis 1:27

Masculinity and femininity are beautiful, different, and should be celebrated!  It is so wonderful to be feminine.  I love the differences in the way I look, and in the things my body can do, like giving birth and feeding a baby. I like the way I think about things and respond to situations. I enjoy when a man holds a door for me, or pulls my chair out for me, and I can thank him for being a gentleman. I like to nurture my family and take care of my husband. The list goes on and on.

I desire and crave masculinity to balance me.  It is wildly attractive to me.  I sought that sort of personality in my past, and ended up in abusive relationships.  Two of them.  It is embarrassing to admit I fell for it twice, but there it is.  Masculinity does not automatically equal abusive though.  The two major differences between my past, and my husband are character, and being a Christian.

I now have found a protective, strong, Godly, intelligent, wise, and masculine husband.  I look around at people now, and wonder how my two young girls will ever find such a husband for themselves among all the genderless, wimpy, social justice warrior, pronoun choosing, fluid people.  My husband and I already pray for those little boys, who are probably already born somewhere, that our girls will grow up to marry.  We pray for their upbringing, and for their parents.

There are so many things I cannot do as a woman that my husband helps me with.  There are also many things that my husband cannot do without my help.  We are two parts of a whole.  We are helpers to one another.  We are a team.  We are one.

Speaking of my past relationship leads me to remember how mentally abusive it was, and it was forging ahead to becoming physical abuse.  This was evident to me when he had begun throwing items at me in anger.  This will be a blog for another time, but I wanted to point out that the way the “left” is treating the “right,” the way Democrats are treating Republicans, the way Liberals are treating Conservatives feels exactly like an emotionally abusive relationship.  I have been telling my husband this for some time, and I consider myself an expert on that topic.

Take a look at this graphic. Do you see any connections that can be made to our current social climate? Of course, there will be differences because this wheel is about relationships. But there are many parallels I can draw at a glance.

We are being gaslighted, repeatedly. If you aren’t sure what ‘gaslighting’ is, I would encourage you to look it up.  I will link an article here if you are interested.

What is Gaslighting?

It is so important we remember that God created us, with ALL of our differences, because we need one another. We are beautifully made, each individual one of us.  Some are male and some are female.  Any attempt to cancel that fact is abusive and goes against God.

Creating racism to fight racism

How do people think that fighting racism with more racism will solve our problems? If it is racist if ‘white’ is used somewhere, then it is also racist if ‘black’ is used to determine who gets something. For this blog, I’m going to use black and white since that seems to be the current focus. Although you should be able to insert any race and get the same answer.

I want to be sure we are on the same page, so here is the definition of racism:

racism rā′sĭz″əm►

  • n.The belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others.
  • n.Discrimination or prejudice based on race.
  • n.The belief that each race has distinct and intrinsic attributes.

Allow me to share some examples…

Here is a headline that I saw yesterday, “After permit approved for whites-only church, small Minnesota town insists it isn’t racist”

Is it racist? Yes! Replace ‘white’ with ‘black’ in that headline. Is it still racist? Yup. Okay, that was am easy one. Let’s look at another example:

“New, $62 million fund for Black Oregonians attracts nearly 7,000 applicants in 4 days…”

Guys, that’s racist too. What if the headline read, “New, $62 million fund for White Oregonians attracts nearly 7,000 applicants in 4 days…” Racist. If it is racist with one color in it, it is racist for any color to be singled out.

My husband made a podcast discussing how we in America decided to vaccinate frontline caregivers first for Covid. It sounds noble. But a deeper look into the reasoning behind the decision is disturbing. The elderly are at greatest risk of dying to Covid. But it is mostly white people who live to be old. There are many reasons this could be true, but instead of trying to solve underlying issues that cause such things, we should just let the whites die off. It will give us an opportunity to level the field. This is not my opinion, it is the opinion of professor Herald Schmidt.

“Older populations are whiter, ” Harald Schmidt, a professor of ethics and health policy at the University of Pennsylvania, told The New York Times. “Society is structured in a way that enables them to live longer. Instead of giving additional health benefits to those who already had more of them, we can start to level the playing field a bit.”

When Doug brought this up, I was skeptical. But, a quick search brought up many articles covering this topic. Not only is this racist, it is tiptoeing along the border of eugenics. If you want to listen to his podcast on this topic, you can find it below.

Double standards are no longer surprising

The Red House in Portland. If you have not heard of it – I would urge you to look it up and take a few moments to read about this situation.

What if you or I decided we didn’t want to pay our bills, and when eviction came, we put up barriers, closing off streets, recruited armed guards to set up booby traps for anyone who dates to enter our zone, and demanded to negotiate with officials?

Would we be viewed as innocent victims who are in need of help? As people who should be negotiated with at all?

We would be rooted out, arrested, evicted, and punished. That is what would and should happen. But not to ‘some’ people with the correct ideology who use all of the best buzzwords in the right city. They get to endanger their neighborhoods, the police and threaten other civilians. They expressed intent to cause harm to people who are not welcomed.

This just one example, out of SO many, of the double standards that are based on which side you belong to politically. Doug’s latest podcast talks about this. You can listen to it here:

The price of freedom

Today the price for freedom is taking a toll in a different way than it has in the past. We aren’t at war with an outside enemy as we have been to defend our country and our freedom. The battle is being fought much closer to home. Some businesses in Washington are opening despite the mandates, and are being fined heavily for such defiance. The support from the community is ongoing, but the fines are building. In the podcast for today, Doug talks about the small businesses that are bravely fighting for freedom, and the mounting fines they are facing.
